What’s Happening At Lovers Key State Park?

Just minutes from our beautiful beach here at Gulfview Manor you will be able to enjoy one of our area’s premiere nature experiences in Lovers Key State Park.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the State and it’s all yours to enjoy while you’re visiting us.  This island was only accessible by boat, but now can easily be visited by car or boat.  The park is actually four barrier islands and is home to a myriad of wildlife all protected by law.

You will see manatee, bottlenose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, marsh rabbits, bald eagles among others. Hiking, boating, kayaking are also available. Biking and hiking can be enjoyed along 5 mile long tracks.  Outdoor showers, trolleys to take you to and from the park areas are some of the amenities offered on the 712 acre park. Truly something for everyone!

The State has now approved a major renovation for the park in a new 3500 square foot Welcome Center.  Not only will this indoor space be used for exhibits, but also for group meetings and weddings etc.  The building which will be set on stilts for any kind of flooding will be large enough for the trams to park underneath bringing guests to and from the parking lots and beaches.  The grant will only cover the cost of the building but not the exhibits which can cost as much as $800,000.
